THE VALE COMMUNITY HOSPITAL LEAGUE OF FRIENDS

The Friends were initially set up before the hospital build was completed in late 2011.  This was to enable us to start helping from day one.

Vale Community Hospital League of Friends is a Registered Charity

We spend monies raised on items requested by the hospital which wouldn’t be funded by the NHS.  Under “Achievements” there is a list of some, but not all, of the items we have provided.   We are all volunteers on the Committee and normally have a committee meeting every two months except in August and December.   If required we meet more often.

We receive donations from grateful patients in the hospital or relatives,  and also hold events through the year to raise money.  We have a shop in a room off the main reception where we sell donated items and hold coffee/cake mornings several times a year.  We also have a band of volunteers who also help us in the hospital and at events.

The use of the shop and other fundraising activities have been temporarily suspended because of the Covid pandemic. We are hoping to resume these activities as soon as possible.  However, we do have reserves from previous fundraising so we are still able to fund items requested by the hospital.
